7 YEAR TILE WARRANTY
Warranty Coverage
 

All first quality tiles sold by Darth Industries Holdings Pty Ltd are covered by this 7 Year Limited Warranty.

Under normal residential conditions and with proper maintenance, Darth Industries Holdings Pty Ltd warrants that its first quality ceramic and porcelain tiles will be free from manufacturing defects resulting from defective factory workmanship for a period of seven (7) years from the original installation date.

Covered manufacturing defects may include:
 

  • Warping

  • Cracking

  • Crazing

  • Fading

  • Expansion and contraction defects
     

This warranty applies only where defects arise from the manufacturing process and not from installation, misuse, maintenance failures, or external causes.

1. Installation Requirements
 

Tiles must be installed strictly in accordance with:

  • Manufacturer installation instructions; and/or

  • AS3958 (2007) — Guide to the Installation of Ceramic Tiles

Darth Industries Holdings Pty Ltd accepts no responsibility for defects or failures arising from:

  • Incorrect installation

  • Inappropriate installation methods

  • Incorrect substrate preparation

  • Improper adhesives, primers, or installation materials

The consumer is responsible for ensuring all installation materials and methods are fit for purpose.
 

2. Product Suitability
 

It is the sole responsibility of the purchaser to determine whether the selected tiles are suitable for their intended purpose and location before purchase.

Darth Industries Holdings Pty Ltd makes no warranty regarding suitability for any particular application, environment, or use.

Professional advice should be obtained where required.
 

3. Additional Tile Quantities
 

Customers are advised to purchase an additional 5%–15% quantity of tiles to allow for:

  • Installation wastage

  • Future repairs

  • Accidental damage

Darth Industries Holdings Pty Ltd does not guarantee future availability of matching:

  • Colours

  • Batches

  • Patterns

  • Finishes

Colour variation between batches may occur.
 

4. Slip Resistance
 

All ceramic and porcelain tiles may become slippery when wet.

Darth Industries Holdings Pty Ltd accepts no liability for accidents or injuries caused by:

  • Inappropriate tile selection

  • Improper maintenance

  • Carelessness

  • Wet surface conditions
     

5. Maintenance Requirements
 

Regular cleaning and maintenance must be carried out in accordance with recommended tile care practices.

Failure to properly maintain the tiles will void this warranty.
 

6. Warranty Remedies
 

If a valid warranty claim is accepted, Darth Industries Holdings Pty Ltd may, at its sole discretion:

  • Repair the defective tiles;

  • Replace the defective tiles;

  • Supply equivalent goods; or

  • Pay the reasonable cost of repair or replacement.

Warranty remedies apply only to the specific defective tiles and not to the entire tiled area.
 

7. Inspection Before Installation
 

No claims will be accepted for:

  • Incorrectly supplied products

  • Obvious defects

  • Batch variations

  • Visible damage where such issues should reasonably have been identified before installation.

 

8. Exclusions
 

This warranty does not cover defects or damage resulting from:

  • Structural movement

  • Water damage

  • Incorrect installation

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Abuse or misuse

  • Impact damage

  • Lack of maintenance

  • Accidental damage
     

9. Limitation of Liability
 

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Darth Industries Holdings Pty Ltd’s liability shall not exceed the original purchase price of the defective tiles; and

  • This warranty is to be read together with the company’s Terms and Conditions of Sale.


10. No Other Warranties
 

Except as expressly stated in this document, no other warranties, express or implied, are provided, including warranties relating to:

  • Fitness for a particular purpose

  • Installation services

No dealer, retailer, installer, architect, builder, agent, or employee is authorised to modify or extend this warranty.
 


Making a Warranty Claim

To submit a warranty claim, the purchaser must provide:

Required Information

  1. Purchase date

  2. Invoice number

  3. Product code

  4. Copy of purchaser identification

  5. Installation date and location

  6. Clear photographs of:

    • The defective tiles

    • The defect from multiple angles

  7. Installer details and credentials

Claims must be lodged:

  • Within one (1) month of the defect becoming known (or reasonably discoverable); and

  • Within the applicable 7 year warranty period
     

Claim Costs

All costs associated with making a warranty claim are the responsibility of the claimant.

If the claim is found to be invalid, Darth Industries Holdings Pty Ltd reserves the right to recover reasonable assessment costs, including:

  • Labour

  • Materials

  • Travel expenses
     

Australian Consumer Law
 

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
